To me, this means that Epson has maybe scrapped the 1080p panels and is working on 4k panels. It would not take so long otherwise. My guess is that any high end projector in 2013 would have to be 4k.

What really happened here will never be known. The reason given is assembly issues. I doubt it because Epson is not a novice at manufacturing. My guess is that it took Epson such a long time to work out the kinks that it no longer...

The thing is that Epson IS selling them in Japan and for a premium too! If work needs to be done on the tech before it can be sold here, what must Epson think of its Japanese customers? This is really weird.
