hard to say how long before another stuck mirror might appear.there is a lot of walk throughs on you tube and avs.there are also videos people have posted.i think the part runs about 100 bucks.just do a search and you should find a lot...

it depends if the mirror on the dlp chip is stuck open or closed.it will show black or white.the only way to fix it is to replace the dlp chip.

it also could be a weak ballast.ours acted like that after replacing the bulb and that was the issue.just a thought
