Pretty late to the party, but I'm in the market for a replacement receiver for my Onkyo 805 that recently developed HDMI problems. The refurb 4310 from AC4L fits in my budget and I'm trying to decide if there is anything else out there...
Regarding United Radio.. Talked on the phone today. They do not take the HDMI board by itself for repair. Must send the whole receiver and costs start at $165+shipping each way. Just not sure its worth it for a receiver that is typically...

I don't think you would be disappointed in a refurbished Epson 8700ub (or the 8500ub if available) combined with a Carada Brilliant White screen. Both would fit well in your budget.
Is it just me, or is the search engine totally whacked? I must have tried 20 different ways to search for the "Official 6500ub Owners Thread" in the +$3k projectors subforum. It doesn't come up any which way I searched. I used variations...
The Visual Apex (VAPEX) fixed screens are nice quality for the price as well. Nicer than the Elite EzFrame. $400 will get you a 120", $350 will get you a 106". Only in white though.
