The universal remote that comes with the Motorola 6412 DVR is interfering with the functions of my Liteon dvd recorder. Is there anything that I can do to program the remote, so it doesn't interfere with my other device?

When I bought a Panny S29 DVD player, its remote would also affect our Panny E100 DVD recorder. There is no provision for remote-2 on the S29 player but the E100 does have the capability so I changed the E100 to remote-2 and all is well.
I wish. I looked in...
Update: I got it worked out. Since the 6412 has more than one video out, but only has only one set of audio out, I bought a set of decent quality monster audio rca 1m 2f y-splitters, so I could split the sound from my tv and the dvd recorder.
I originally unhooked the audio from the tv and hooked it up to the audio on the dvd recorder, but I had to have the dvd recorder turned on and watch tv through the dvd recorder's tuner in order to get sound.
Thanks again for...

Anyway, I didn't have any problems for awhile, but I just started having some problems. The first thing I noticed was that when I was playing back some recorded shows, the fast forward buttons basically didn't work. It would start to fast forward, then it would...

Gary: Here's the link for the instructions. Follow the driver install instructions exactly how they are written. Edit: Puck -- I see that you already provided the link for Gary.
Puck: Thanks for the newegg link for the inexpensive Firewire cable! :D
I just purchased a Liteon LVW-5005x dvd recorder and started doing some recording from my Motorola 6412 (Comcast DVR). The problem that I'm having is that every time I go to use the Motorola's universal remote, it interferres with my Liteon dvd recorder. For example, I was trying to use the 30 second skip feature on my Motorola dvr remote and it kept on pausing and restarting the recording process on the Liteon dvd recorder. Also, when I was trying to change the volume...

But if I cancel Surreal Life, it records it anyway. It recorded the same episode where...

Thanks for the reply! It has a rca video out as well as an S-video, so video isn't the problem. It's the audio since...
Excellent guys! That's what I thought. The reason why I wasn't seeing anything with the recorded programs was because I needed to select the show and then hit play. Without it being hooked up to the tv, I had no way of knowing what I was looking at. The reason why I couldn't capture anything live was because I didn't have the dvr box hooked up to the coax cable.
I don't know why I was thinking that I'd see just a bunch of files on my dvr and be able to download...
I hooked up my Motorola 6412 DVR to my pc last night. I followed instructions posted on the internet on how to install the drivers and get everything up and running. I got everything set up and my system is recognizing the dvr.
The problem is that when I went to try and run CapDVHS, I don't see anything to record. When I hit the record button, the counter starts working, but if I check the file, it is empty. I also don't see any files within the software. Do I...
