To make myself clear, it made the same noises that are in this YouTube video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNEnIKV2How
But nothing else. No chaotic swirling white noise, which MCACC always involved.
I'm hoping you guys experienced with Audyssey can set my mind at ease.
I ran Audyssey yesterday and I'm worried I missed a step. (I had to use the Denon display not an OSD, so it was a bit hard to see what the hell I was doing.) Anyway, I ran through all six positions, but Audyssey only did the "boink, boink, boink" test sounds for each of the 7.1 speakers before asking me to move onto the next position. There was never any super-deafening, swooshing...
Thanks!I put it in DDPLIIx myself and see what you're talking about regarding the back surrounds. (Dammit! I just watched "Rambo" without them!) However, Standard Mode doesn't kick on DDPLIIx automatically that I can see ... am I missing something? Edit: Ah, wait a minute. Maybe it does after all.
Yep, that is right. I figured it out on my own earlier.
So, again trying to get someone to chime in here on this question: my surround back speakers won't see any action unless I use some form of HD audio such as a Blu-ray player, right? The Denon doesn't have any music or other surround modes that will use the back surrounds if I'm just using an Xbox 360 and HD DirecTV, right?
I tried that and got it to show up for a split second -- looking like it was trying to adjust itself in size -- before the screen went blank and gave me the "no signal" again. Weird. Maybe it has something to do with the 30-foot long HDMI run. Oh, well, at least the video sources work.SECOND QUESTION: I have a 7.1 speaker setup and ran Audyssey accordingly (amp assigned to "normal"), but I am not using a Blu-ray player -- just a DirecTV HD DVR and an Xbox 360 to play DVDs....
1) OK, I tore the speaker out of the wall. Took an hour. It's wired correctly, of course. Next, to tear the 7.1 faceplate off the wall behind the receiver to see if it has a wiring issue.
2) In the meantime, this remote control issue is really pissing me off. The remote controls the Denon AVR no problem -- it just doesn't control the Audyssey setup. Can someone walk me through what exactly switches on the remote need to be set where? This is ridiculous.
3) Lastly, I can...
Hi guys, trying to use Audyssey.
Two questions: My remote control won't control anything having to do with Audyssey setup. I have to push the buttons on the actual AVR. Is that normal?
Also, I have the dreaded speaker out of phase for my SBL channel. I'm really not wild about tearing a speaker out of the wall to see if it got wired backward. I flipped the L and R where I plug into the wall behind the receiver and Audyssey is now happy with the results. Should I just...
