Thanks for the help! I had given up on a response and just came back today to check
I'm also considering a second sub. Maybe one sub at position 1 and a second at position 2. Will it matter if the subs are different models/brands?
Just placed my order with 6th Ave. I was a little apprehensive at how quick the sale went. I was really just intending to check the price, but had the order made in seconds and was told thanks and was hurried off the line. As soon as I hung up, I had an order confirmation e-mail in my inbox.
I asked if the firmware upgrade was included and was told these just arrived so it should be in there. I imagine he meant the update and not the upgrade.
I'm looking for good test CDs/DVDs. I have the Planet Earth HD-DVD set but haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet. I knew there would be some good video on it, but didn't realize they were good for audio. What chapter on the fourth are you referring to? Any other good demo/test moments in that series?
I'm in the process of setting up our new media room and am disappointed with the bass performance. I pre-installed wiring for four possible locations in the room, labeled "SUB POS. #".
The sub is an Energy ES-10, which I've used for more than 10 years and have been relatively happy with it.
I've tested positions 2-4 (haven't gotten to 1 yet) and they are all very weak at the primary listening position. Position 2 sounds great at the secondary listening position...
I thought pointing out that the 2808 is .05% rated while the 2809 is .08% rated is very meaningful. If they were both .05% rated, that means the 2809 has an updated amp section. Now we know, they probably both have the same amp.
It would be nice to just be able to modify the original post with FAQs.
I know long standing forum members hate seeing the same question over and over, but it's not as easy to find info as it seems. And it's really a daunting task to feel you need to read the whole thread before posting a question.
I search the forum and brand specific threads before asking a question, but I have missed a post. It would just be nice to have a goto thread on the front page.
I just wanted to comment on the macromounts.
I just installed 4 C-100s today with these. I couldn't be happier with them. Our new home was just finished and I realized I forgot to put blocking in the walls of the the media room I spent so much time planning for and wiring. But, I used some toggle bolts similar to these and it made for a very solid mount.
Once we get moved in, I can give a more thorough review of the c-100s and c-c100.
Can we tackle number one first? It may be all I need. Can I do number one without number two & without a new receiver? I'm going to be running this with a Denon AVR-2700.To clarify what I want:1) Ability to play 5 left/right summed to mono channels independently or together.2) Separate volume for each of the 5 channels in one location.3) Cheap. How I attain those goals doesn't really matter. What I have:Denon AVR-2700 receiver in entertainment cabinet. The...
I want to be able to run any or all speakers at a given time. Two are in the house and will likely be run at the same time all of the time. Three are at different locations outside and will likely be run at different times. But, there may be a time where I want all on.
I want them all to play a mono signal, no stereo. But, I don't want to play just one channel (left or right) I want the left and right channels in mono.
So, the speaker selector does not adjust the...
