I meant no 60p, I know you can do 24p and 30p"As long as it is decent quality" so it does matter, miniDV and HDV tapes have diffrent tape coating density, HDV tape doesn't have to be decent quality and that is the diffrence.
I don't know how you ended up with H264 MPEG-4 AVC while the DVD is MEPG2 PS that's a huge loss of quality, try re-ripping your discs with a lossless option, If you can buy either videoredo or smart cutter you can edit the video with no loss of quality, both re-encode only few frames arrount the cuts you don't even notice it.
Wireless is just a convinience option, you can do the same on wifi that you do on ethernet cable including streaming, the only diffrence is on wifi HD videos will have hickups. I'm hooking up mine on cable but I access it from my laptop in another room using wifi, I use it to store my media files, I also like to watch some content from my laptop when I go to bed on the night stand.
It requires a computer, type in your media player ip addy in the browser and then load the torrent file there and you should see some buttons in the browser to start the torrent pause it and so on. you can load up to 4 torrents at the same time.
The torrent downloading speed is very slooooow to the point it is useless, a 5gb file may take several months, I tested several files comparing them to my computer and confirmed it is not functional as it should. So don't count on it.
I used both and videoredo has more limitations, for instance it doesn't do AVC, I use smart cutter even on m2ts with DTS HD master and several other tracks, several subtitles and it slices thru all of them like a hot knife on the butter, unbelievable.
Yes they cut without transcoding, like I mentioned above only few frames around the cut which you will never see when playing in real time, Read about frame accurate editing, you wouldn't believe it until you understand it.
