Applied the new firmware release via usb to my 818 over lunch. No issues applying the firmware (I had the beta on as well) and I did run through a few things and all appears to be normal.
I picked up a "refurb" 93 from Oppo about 3-ish or so months before the 103's rolled out. I was a little bummed at the time but my wallet thanked me for saving the money and this player is great!

My 818 is almost night and day cooler than my former TX-SR805. Then again the 805 had a pretty hefty amplification section that helped warm things up....
I sent a second email to Onkyo for the beta firmware yesterday afternoon and received two responses within a couple of hours with links to the files. I installed the firmware as directed and this appears to have fixed the 24fps issue...
6sj7gt-- Thanks for the info. I'll be patient and give it another day or so. I typically watch my spam for the errant message that gets sent there incorrectly.
For those that have received the beta firmware release from Onkyo what has been the typical turn-around time from request to receipt? One or two days? Just curious.

It'd be nice if Verizon FIOS jumped into this. I'm sitting on a 50/25 FIOS line and get every bit and then some with any speed test I run. This would be a welcome improvement in Netflix streaming.
