Dave! It worked! The RCA cable wasn't plugged in all the way on the back of the receiver. You're a genius!
Now that everything is working is it recommended to preemptively swap out the factory driver for something better?
My sub quit working
I have an A2-300. It already died once and got it fixed by ED a couple of years ago.
Now the green light stays on but no sound. The green light is on even if the RCA inputs are unplugged.
The driver measures 5.6 ohms. There is no scratchy sound when it is gently pushed and released.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
My experience with AV123:
I bought a 5.0 Rocket package (RS250MKII, Bigfoot, dipoles).
3 of the speakers had bad drivers (Bigfoot and each of the dipoles... made a spitting sound when played, sounded papery/scrunchy when gently pushed in at edge).
After a couple months they sent me a replacement Bigfoot driver... which too was faulty.
"An order has been put in for replacement drivers". Another 2 months later... no UPS notification.
So I order 3 drivers...
I bought a Rocket 5.0 system and I'm having problems.
At first I noticed the Bigfoot center made a spitting sound. Sure enough, the tech asked me to gently push the 'white' drivers with my fingers, and one of them sounded different (a papery, scrunchy sound). They are sending me a new driver to replace this faulty one, which is great.
However, I've checked the other drivers today and half of them make this papery, scrunchy sound (as I understand it should not make...
I'm not sure if receivers if this range sound significantly better than one another. I got a denon 1909 and Rocket setup... bought it unheard... I just trusted what people said. Good enough, I'm happy with it. I use it once a week. Mind you I can afford pretty much anything right now, but, why spend the money?
I want to get another receiver for my computer/Paradigm Titan setup. I've been looking at the Yamaha 6150/563, Pio 918, refurb Marantz 4002. Now the Yamaha...
Well, there is a board underneath it.
I may move it in a few inches. The Rocket manual states 6-8 inches from the back wall is the minimum clearance. More is recommended however.
By the way I have filled the interior of the Bigfoot with nitroglycerin.
