Of particular offense to me was HBO-Comedy HD and G4 HD. But the full list of recent add/change/drop activities is here:http://ww2.cox.com/residential/support/tv/article.cox?articleId=241f0100-e8c1-11e2-5f64-000000000000
Never thought I'd be saying this, but thank goodness I took the rate lock offer when we moved into the new house.
That is a serious price bump, would've been $17 for me. Considering that they are dropping HD channels their service is arguably shrinking while the price is increasing!
I really feel bad for those folks who bought into the Record6 DVR, it was only just price competitive with TiVo service, now, it's not and the TiVo is still better.
Joined the owner's club this weekend. Completely satisfied and little to no vingetting that I see.
Even the out of the box settings are pretty good, but I'll still be calibrating it when the new tower speakers are delivered.
Yes, great colors, low input lag, impulse backlight strobing. It is probably the best display for gaming around in this size. The 65" W850a, which shares much of its underpinnings and was just released this week, should also be a standout gaming display.
They had a gap in their lineup because I was squarely in it. I was comparing the 70R550 and 55W900 at around the same price fully knowing that the IQ on the W900 was better. But the 55" would've been barely an upgrade from my 46" so I was ready to take the IQ hit for the larger display. The new 65" W850 essentially solves that for me and many others.
I recently got the update and while the new netflix and youtube apps are better than they were, they are still not that great. The netflix app specifically seems to have far more trouble than any other in my home keeping streams steady at best quality. It regularly bounces up and down in quality requiring an HDMI resync (loss of picture) each time. The lag between button press and system response is also pretty terrible. I've gone back to my PS3 for netflix streaming.
Not that I've seen, but Logitech will be announcing their quarterly results on Wednesday the 25th. That would be a great time to announce new product, especially since last quarterly result they admitted to being behind on upgrading the Harmony line.If there's no announcement this week, I'll probably go ahead and pick up a Harmony One. My 720 is spontaneously rebooting daily now and the 3 and 5 buttons are nearly completely dead.
