don't get rid of the tapes afterwards,the longevity of burned dvds is a big question mark,some go bad in a matter of months or even sooner.
yesterday,the BB in Elmhurst,Queens didn't even have it hooked up, a display model was out among the regular dvd players,with an boxed one underneath.

I think even RAMs go bad in a few years,heres an interesting anecdote from a thread on videohelp.com's forum about disc fade: " A friend working in the animation biz has reported some huge issues with RAM discs from 5 years ago,...
but why is darker the correct input,it sounds like the dvds are too dark.

hopefully blu ray,with it's new type of CuSi recording layer(copper silicon) will be more archival than the lousy,fading garbage dyes used in current dvds.I wonder if they will eventually make recordable dvds out of those materials?
