The Short Story -> speaker configuration is 5.1 and the mains are 4 ohm speakers that I am running at 6 ohm (per Onkyo support) Bi amped with a Directv DVR and a home built HTPC. My clicking has gone away.

I called Onkyo Product Support at 800-229-1687 and they told me I had to take it into a service center for a firmware update. My SWAG is that Onkyo figures we have far to many lawyers and dummies than Europe.
It looks like once upon a time ONKYO would let end users do firmware updates.
