No complaints here, but I've gotta say this is one of those series where I actually prefer some of the sequels to the original -- namely Hellbound and Inferno. Bloodline isn't too shabby either. Unfortunately I think Anchor Bay only have 1-3, everything else is with Dimension/BVHE.
The UK release of Ashes of Time Redux is region-free with PAL extras. There's some more info and caps here. The caps are pretty small so I wouldn't judge too much from them, but I saw this theatrically and I can say anyone expecting reference quality should forget about it -- even the 35mm version looked processed to high heaven.
I'm not sure where you're getting that stuff about "rights" from -- he's saying the 70mm mix was "theatre-specific" (that's an exact quote) and unsuitable for a home video release. He never said or implied anything about not having the rights and I can't imagine why they wouldn't, unless you know something I don't.
