Big question to the new JVC RS57 owners: How are the black levels now with the new dynamic iris implementation? Satisfying or not? Of course one needs to have a dedicated bat cave to truthfully answer this question.
I'd think a 70 inch 4K OLED would be just perfect for me. I cannot fathom how spectacular that would look. I would be willing fork over a lot of dough for something like that. The future of tvs is looking very exciting indeed. For now though, we will be playing the waiting game.Oh and one more thought about OLEDs. As much as I love great contrast and black levels, there are other aspects that are important to PQ. So far, based on what I read of the LG and Samsung...
Yeah, contrast has been just incrementally better hasn't it? JVC needs to think of something revolutionary like they did with the RS1. We'll just have to keep waiting. I'm satisfied with the contrast at the moment with my RS35, but in a couple of years I hope they can really improve it because its one of the most important aspects in picture quality. We need to be patient.
+ 1 as well. I have the JVC RS35 and it is a wonderful projector. Only thing is, as a black level fanatic, I would like to see some excellent improvements in contrast and black levels from JVC. Perhaps a native contrast ratio of 200,000:1 for their flagship projector would be a nice improvement. Here's hoping.
As much as I would like to get a JVC 4k projector, I REALLY would like JVC to really improve the contrast ratio and the ANSI contrast. Say, 200,000:1 native CR for their highest end projector. Imagine those kinds of contrast ratios (and improved ANSI) combined with native 4k. I can't wait for something like that. JVC has to one day get close to CRT projector blacks....
The black levels look nice, but still not the level I would like them. Maybe in a few years or so JVC can make it happen. I have the RS35, and while everything else is excellent about it, the blacks could be blacker. I'm thinking around native 250,000:1 I would be satisfied. I know this will happen, but we have to wait. In the meantime, I am definitely loving my RS35 (my first projector).
