Great idea with eBay, found a pack of three cases for about 5$ including shipping. I'm sure I'm going to tear another case with those stupid security stickers, so having a few spare cases won't hurt.
Thanks a bundle,
All these security sticker things are driving me up a wall. Today, I tried opening my copy of "Tears of the Sun", and while peeling off one of those (3) stickers, the plastic backing tore.
Anybody had any luck getting these replaced? Or know where to buy a case alone and how to transplant the cover work?
I've got an Optoma HD70, a HK 247, a PS3, and a Motorola HD DVR.
When I use the ps3 or watch high def content on cable, everything works fine (I'm using DVI to/from all sources.) When I watch SD content on television, it looks like the HK is trying to upscale it to 720p - but for some reason it's freaking out the projector, and I get white/grayish vertical bars - no picture. If I activate the OSD on the HK and tell it to output at 480p, it works. This is rather a...
I'm sure it's not reference quality, but I've got quite a nice setup still in transit from Hawaii, and felt no need to go out and buy another $2500 set of speakers to pair with a $350 receiver, to be used in a 13'x13' room in an apartment, where cranking the audio is not viable.
Yes, I'm sure the speakers won't appeal to audio snobs, and they are probably even noticeably worse to even the "average" person, when comparing to a $1000 7.1 setup, but for my needs - it's good...
Here are the order details.

This is what I paid, from Electronics Expo, through Amazon. Did you select the correct shipping option? It could also be possible they changed...
It's funny how this thread worked out. I read all the advice, and checked amazon for the HK (just out of curiosity) and saw the price, bought it along with the speakers mentioned earlier right away, and monoprice for the HDMI cables and speaker wire. Then, a few posts later, you've all suggested the same thing.
Thanks a ton! I think I really did well in the end, far better than I would have with a HTIB setup. Once my nice speakers come in from Hawaii (I moved recently)...
I'm looking for a HTIB that's less than $500, has at least two HDMI inputs, and does 5.1 channel (or better) audio - with speakers included. This is for my 92" projection setup, in a 14x14 room, so I don't really need anything super powerful. This can *not* be HDMI pass through, it must be able to process audio from both my PS3 (Blu-Ray/DVDs primarily, but some games) and my HD DVR for cable over HDMI.
I've been looking at the Sony HT-SS2000 and HT-SF2000, but...
I'm considering purchasing this projector along with the Panoview 92-Inch / 16:9 HDTV Format / GrayWolf / Pull Down Screen from TD. I searched the forums to determine if this is a workable setup for me with 9' ceilings. I'll be able to place the projector at a reasonable distance, the room is deep enough. I couldn't find on forum searches how to calculate the height of the screen/what is the optimal height. For this projector, the 92" screen I mentioned (I think it's 1.8...
I'm going to be laying out my living area based on the projector/screen, so I'm open to doing whatever is best for the projector.
Where can I look to find the offset necessary for my situation so I know what projectors will/won't work? I didn't see it on the Projector Central calculator.
Your information was *really* helpful. I'm planning to find a projector store (or a store that at least has one demo DLP projector) and seeing if they are a problem for me. I've been...
