I would agree with the above poster I would put the extra time into finding the fabric online and order it, I don't think the end result of a seam would be great to look at.

Totally off topic, but in my area where they have alot of theft problems they do have bait cars. They even goto the extent of parking them beside the warning that bait cars are being used, but yet you still see people getting arrested...

As mentioned above you would have problems with the lens shift. And also you would for ever be messing with the zoom and focus.
