All things being equal (aspect ratio & such) a 70" is 7/6ths the size of a 60" on all dimensions (diagonal, length & width). To compare areas, you need to multiply length x width. Thus, a 7/6th length x a 7/6th width = a 49/36th comparative area. For those without calculators, 49/36 = 1.36, or a 36% larger viewing area.
