resistance 2 launched with relatively minor issues. You'd have expected some lag concerning the sheer scale of the maps & number of players.
I'll probably pick it up from CC as well. $45 is a good price for what seems to be a sleeper hit. It's too bad this game is overshadowed by all the other great games this holiday season.

children can pick up on things surprisingly quick. 5 years is not too young to play video games. I think I was around that age when I first had a NES & supermario bros/duck hunt.
the instant death enemies are very annoying in this game.
I like the missile launcher. I have a lot of ammo. Only **** thing about the launcher is the enemies go flying everywhere. Hard to find their bodies sometime. Most of my skill points went to big guns & small arms. ...

^ Try playing the game first, online & offline before sinking over $100 into extra controllers. If you're really unsure, just rent the game first.
