Update on Remote problem: I found on page 76 of the manual on how to reset all to defaults. You have to use the control on the receiver itself. Reset and re-ran the setup. Everything works now. Thank you.

The arrows worked prior to me pressing the RCU button. I was able to play music on the usb connection. I don't think the remote is bad, just the "selection/settings" were bad. Short of buying a new remote...
