I have THX certs on two JBL Synthesis speakers (L/R) but not on the center channel.
All three have exactly the same drivers. The center has the horn turned 90 degrees so a slightly different dispersion pattern. They all sound the same...
DTS is just another type of surround encoding. Not as common as DD.
It's used in some movie theaters and is an option on some AVR's.
Again, the goal is to match the processor to the source (or stream).

I'll get to those papers Sanjay. My understanding is, if you have small satellites, then you could split the low left and low right into the .2 subs. At the same time both would get the dedicated LFE channel mixed as one.
Is this wrong?
