UPDATE: I unplugged the unit for a while yesterday and plugged it back in and tested all functions and several websites. Everything is working fine on all the apps, settings & screens for the most part. However the Web browser is still rendering some sites off center to the left, while others are fine. My own site I built and Apple's website both have a lot of extra space (browser background or "margin") on the right with the center of the sites (the actual page...
I have this system too in one of my vacation rentals and bought it two years ago. It worked great originally but in the past few month(s) or so I can never get the Internet/Smart Hub to start up. Instead of saying "Starting" and then displaying the Smart Hub apps within a few seconds it either says "Installing" or "Downloading" and either cycles endlessly until I return to the menu or else locks up completely Powering the unit off and on again helped before, but now...
I have that unit. Why not simply use a digital optical audio cable from your HD cable box to the Samsung for 5.1 surround and mute the TV audio when watching HDTV programs?
Hi, thanks for the response. It's not that I didn't think of that but I just thought if it was something that needed a soft or factory reset it would seem strange that the only thing that would be affected would be something so specific and minor as the Web page displays on the browser, when all the other apps and categories work fine. For instance, with my Samsung it is more blatant, like the Smart Hub (the entire screen to choose the apps) not even loading at all. ...
I love the speed and connectivity of this Blu-ray player I bought late 2012 over the Smart Hub connectivity issues and failure of the smart hub on my Samsung Blu-ray home theater system from mid-2011, which I can no longer get to start up. It also has a Web browser which the 2011 Samsung Smart Hub devices did not. However, in the past month or so I've noticed the screen is now displaying pages in the Web browsers as stretched horizontally and off-center to the left, so...
For anyone who may be following this thread, i just discovered yet another shortcoming of Trio vs. Passport. Normally, with Passport if you have the tuner tuned to a station while you are watching a pre-recorded program you can stop and go back the full amount of time on that station since it has been tuning in to that "live TV" feed while you were watching your show. However, with Trio when you try to do that it is very difficult and frustrating. It will either jump...
Ah, looks like Mr. Know-It-All is not replying. Or could it be that IGNORE is working. I'll just assume he's learned his lesson and considered why he seems to have issues with everyone on this forum and learn from them wisely. (I'm joking of course! ...sorry, I needed a laugh ). Oh well -- by now, I'm sure he's used to talking to himself on here.
Wow, you really are a complete a-hole buddy, just like I've been reading and hearing about you on here. You must not have many friends in general. I won't bother to copy & paste your last quote because you completely said that I said things I did not (I'm betting people can read though). But I'll stick to the things I actually said. A trade-off is not an upgrade. Period. And guess what? The unit I have now does not have 6 tuners so that point is moot if I trade it...
Nope, not wrong. #1 - I didn't specify how I was using the term half (or can you read my mind?). I did not say "half the population" (could've been number of time zones or area, etc.). #2 - Any moron with any ability to understand casual conversation knows that was not said as a scientific analysis of population, but is a very casual figure of speech. But again, it is a fact that more than half the number of time zones and the greatest land area do use the 7-10 PM...
And as I said, I don't need multiple users or those two sports channels you keep heralding. So suffice it to say there are some nice new configurable features and graphics with Trio and several things that are worse. So is that really a step up? "We can add six improvements as long as we take away or downgrade six other features". I don't call that a step up. I call that an "either/or" issue. The problem is, no one mentions any of the stuff you give up if you switch...
