When watching movies off the thumb drives is the S64/60 not capable of reading the srt file? I just realized this last night continuing a movie upstairs on my samsung and realized that the panasonic isn't displaying these at all.
bang for the buck is easy with the S64...for top level quality you can have fun comparing the zt and 8500. I preferred the vt50 to the 8500 if that tells you anything, but I wanted to pay under 2k and get 65" so the choice was easier for me.
Just looked up the definitions...yeah its posterization. Problem is for antenna input I don't believe you can change anything with the hdmi controls or even the advanced settings..the only thing I could change was the sharpness. I didn't catch the iron man/audi ad last night so I couldn't confirm if the sharpness lessens it to an extent.
HD- I mentioned earlier in this thread that you'll need a decently large SUV or odyssey or the like minivan to fit the plasma due to the vertical shipping requirements. Just ask one of your married friends with kids to borrow his van?
any Game of Thrones fans here?
There's some weird green garbage in some of the dark scenes in yesterdays episode...maybe I just didn't notice it on the sammy upstairs since it was a 51" vs this new 65" monstrosity.
Just to confirm, it appears that the HDMI to photo instead of graphics should fix this. I did this for hdmi 2 (receiver) since it clears up the sharpening for the pc input, but I did not check to see if this was in affect for the antenna output (yes I am using bunny ears). If this at least decreases the stupid halos I will be satisfied.
I don't think you understood my comment..it is the identical effect I see on the F8500 also. I'm referring to the complete elimination of image at certain vertical angles. When you back up in the store, you don't see it as much and at home, I never once noticed that effect since mine sits on top of a tv stand and is not mounted high up on a wall.
to be honest...i've only noticed it on my high compression rips where its also noticeable on my tb display (amplified on a 65" does make it worse lol)The only way to be sure though is to run the same files on all 3 displays with the same settings (S64/ST60/ZT60). Since I want a 65" TV...is it worth another 70% investment if we're removing it on the ST? The ZT i have no doubt is better...but it's a 250% extra investment. To follow up on scooters observation and others:I...
