Has anyone calibrated a JVC projector with autocal in calman5? i received my new JVC X700 projector a little over a month ago, and have run it 15-20 hours so far and am ready to try to calibrate it, i purchased calman5 and a i1display pro meter, just trying to figure out where to start and what user-mode i should calibrate THX? just looking for someone who has some guidance on where i should start with calibrating my JVC X700 projector..
So i finally got my new JVC x700 up and running i think i have approx 15 hours on it, have a few questions... does the new FW only fix the HDMI issues people were having, i've did a bunch of tests flipping from 4k source to 1080/60 1080/24 haven't had any issues.. should i upgrade to the newest FW are there any other tweaks/fixes besides the HDMI issue? 2nd questions is around calibration, i've read http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35322 and everything sounds...
I also seen this projector at CES, I went into the showing room, looked great i also looked behind me at the unit ant noticed it had 4 led indicators for lamps, so almost seemed like it was running 4 bulbs, this thing was a beast and the picture of the unit out front was only a prototype mockup of what it would possibly look like, also talked with the Panasonic guys and it seemed like they had no plans to make a 4k consumer projector at this point.
So just getting caught up on the forums from the past week, i was in Vegas for 8 days attending CES and other business, i met with JVC and they told me they were issuing a FW fix for the issues everyone is having, just curious if any of the dealers have received the fix yet, i got a few business cards from the JVC guys but figured i would ask here to see if anything has come out yet before i start sending some emails asking JVC.
So i setup my X700 on the table in my mediaroom and did some initial testing, i was just running hdmi form my 15" MacBook Pro Retina, i played a few files back they looked great at 1920x1080, i then jumped the desktop res to 4096x2160 and played the same files back i also tested a few 4k mp4 files, from my initial first thoughts it seems to look better in the 4K res form the laptop the videos seem to be sharper running the pc at 4K, especially the 4k files i notice more...
