Darn. Probably would have taken you up on your offer if I had be in the market 5 months ago haha.So...I bought my XP400s for $130...and getting a set of PLYR1's would be 179.99+tax...worth the switch (in your opinions)?
Aren't the PLYR 1's only like a few months old? Or has stock just been scarce? I read the B&M retail presence seems to be exclusive to BB only? Wonder how long it would be before Skullcandy put out a v2 or set that supports next gen. Is there a general time frame where headsets usually get released (COD headsets not withstanding) or is it pretty random? For example...new TVs getting announced at CES every year.
one last question...does the receiver have to be powered by the console usb or can you plug it into any usb port available (i.e. tv, iphone power outlet, etc.) for everything, mic, sound, etc. to work properly? thanks again. thinking of picking one of these up from BB to compare to my xp400 over the weekendinteresting that this set seems to have sort of flown under the radio despite being the love child of skull candy and astro buyout.
Turtle Beach X-rays are on sale again at Amazon for $99. If you are willing to risk skipping out on the 1 year warranty there are also open boxes for sale through Amazon for $69/75 depending on condition.
As an aside, using an optical splitter worked perfectly. I no longer need to swap cables when switching between my ps3 and xbox 360. One caveat is you can't have both consoles on at the same time. Which makes sense of course. If for some reason you need that you'll need to get an optical switch.
