Took it completely apart, including the DMD board and chip. I pulled the chip out and cleaned it, re-assembled everything and the blobs are gone.

I just picked up one for $244 from Amazon, heard to many horror stories about knock offs so I stuck with OEM. I would be interested to hear your experience if you choose to pick one up!
Thanks mabuk, any idea where this DMD chip is located? Edit: Actually, I opened the dust cover to the optics chamber and cleaned the DMD with a q tip. Unless the dust is behind it, it appears fairly clean.
So I replaced the bulb in my Optoma HD70 after about 2000 hours of use, HUGE DIFFERENCE. It's like new again, except for those darn dust blobs. I disassembled the whole projector (far out of warranty, as I've had it over 3 years), and...
There are 3 left on ebay for $1224 shipped, new in box, sealed. From california (have to pay sales tax in CA). Paypal or bank wire only. Not a bad price
That makes 3, I too game on my Apple Cinema 30 (same panel as Dell), would like to see how input lag is on this guy. I tried gaming on my HD70, it was ok, but I didn't like the way games looked, 1280x720 is garbage resolution for games.

Ugh, amazon not in stock until Nov 15th!!!! Edit: Nevermind, thats the 8500UB In regard to the pictures posted on HD20 vs 8350... that's probably the size difference I'll be dealing with as well (HD70). I have one of those cheap ebay...
Haha, I'm about to order one just so I can see it, lol. At this point anything 1080p is an upgrade for me.
