I personally prefer the Pioneer BDR-205. Pioneer seems to release more firmware updates and support their existing burners for longer, while LG seems to release one or two (if any) firmware updates, then crank out a new burner. The LG WH10 is cheaper though, and has similar features.Verbatim BD-R is probably the cheapest one that'll work adequately. Most discs that are cheaper than that are manufactured by Ritek. If you go to myce.com and go to their forums, you'll see...
I just discovered a way to strip the unrated version of Hot Tub Time Machine from the rental Blu-ray. Use AnyDVD HD to rip the files to hard drive. Then open the ripped files with Clown BD. When you get to the eac3to portion, you'll be presented with six playlists, the first two of which are 1:40:37 and 1:38:56. Choose 1:40:37. The resulting movie-only ripped files, with just the English soundtrack and English subtitles, are 27.2 GB. This may be more trouble than...
7.1, just because the Blu-ray specification supports a maximum of 8 audio channels.
Logan's Run - $9.99 at Amazon
Breaking Bad is a little cheaper at newegg than other places. $24.49 shipped for Season 1 $27.48 shipped for Season 2 $48.98 shipped for both
Can't wait! "Burn in Hell! Mwahahahaha!"
Only the XA2 and A35 can bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master to your receiver. On other players, if you select "Bitstream", it will only send a core, lower bitrate track. If you set your A30 to "PCM", the player will decode the full Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master track internally and then send it to your receiver as LPCM. The resulting sound is the same, only your receiver doesn't light up because a different device has already done the decoding.
2012 (March 2) The Who - The Kids Are Alright (March 2, although Amazon lists March 9) Tremors (March 9) Toy Story (March 23)
