Arri Alexa is pretty darn good in low light. But it's a full fledged production camera at $60K+. And I doubt that it could operate remotely, but at that price putting a robot at the helm is possible. Not that you'd want to leave it...
They even have color night vision cameras now. And of course FLIR. But they're not really cheap. Just how low light are we talking anyway? Las Vegas at night? Gas station parking lot at night? Or country road with no lights at...
It was just a guess. I've never owned a camcorder with a shoe. But I tend to have engineering interests. Mostly software, but logic is logic.
