Hi guys. I've had my sub now for about 6 months and i noticed recently at certain frequencies the sub will make a noise that sounds a lot like a plate rattling on a glass table. I found a decent test that plays from 40hz-20hz and then back from 20 to 40hz and the sound is VERY distinct at around 25-30hz Also, the volume i run at is not even close to high. I seldom breach -25 on the receiver. Its not running hot as far as i can tell as my receivers sub output is set...
Ah ok. I see now where I was making a mistake in understanding.

Ok, this will probably be a stupid question, but how "infinite" is the infinite baffle of IB? What i mean by that is i know its normal for people to say use a closet or something like that as essentially a super larger enclosure. Since im a renter i cant start carving up walls and such, so what i was wondering is *if* I could build some kind of array that is self standing and then put them say in the back corners of my theater area. I'll draw a crappy picture to...
Hey guys. I dont cruise the forums so much now since i bought my VTF-15h. But, i like to *try* to keep up on things. I was curious if anybody knew if any of the major players were developing any new subs, etc. I vaguely remember hearing a rumor that Epik was developing an 15 or 18" ported option. But i cant seem to find anything on that. Anywhoo, just curious is all. Edit: Changed Rythmik to "Epik", realized i put the wrong manufacturer.
I think another thing people don't really think about, is when you're getting into a decent quality receiver, you usually are getting a good image processor, what this means is you can connect older, lower quality sources and the processor will upscale the image, perform other various image enhancements on it, and you will get a much better image. I have a Marantz Sr5003 and watching DVD's on it with my panasonic plasma vs when i was only using a DVD player straight to...
Hey guys. I was originally planning on designing a build based around 2x 18" maelstroms or a pair of 15's in an opposed configuration in a sealed box, but with those drivers now not an option, i'm wondering what im left with. LMS ultra's are way $$$ outa my range. I was wondering if anything Fi makes would do the trick? I know they have a sub thats real popular for infinite baffles. My goal is to get clean, quality output down to about 15-16hz in a 3600 cubic foot room...
Well, the vtf-15h is 25.0"(h) x 18.0"(w) x 26.0"(d).If i went with a dual opposed on the 15's i wouldnt be opposed to something similar to or slightly larger than that.Width i could up to to 20-21", heighth im not super concerned about, depth i would prefer 24" or less, but the 26" isnt unreasonable.I wouldnt want to go much larger than the dimensions above though cus then its just getting a little bit too unwieldy.
Hey guys. I recently purchased a Hsu vtf-15h and although im overall very pleased with it, the output below about 25hz just leaves a lot to be desired IMO. Honestly its the perfect music sub and is great for any movies that don't have lots of super low content. What i was thinking of doing was 2 sealed cubes, basically one 18" maelstrom sub in each and running those off of 1 or 2 EP4000's. I'm also curious if you think having 2 sealed boxes, each with 2x 15" Tempest...
Hey guys, i was just curious if anyone knew if these subs were still purchasable. I checked diycable and they're only showing the shiva and the tempest subs.
