An eD A5s-300 would do the trick to and comes in a little on the cheaper side. Definitely something to consider.

Well, the HSU VTF-15H is barely OVER 1k shipped, so its not technically in your price range, but i think it merits consideration. I'm absolutely in love with mine.

When you make as broad a line of products, and also offer custom options to your customers, you're going to have a different business model than a company like say HSU or SVS who makes 3-5 different subs and generally has 1-2 finishes...
This is why you don't buy subwoofers based purely off of the specs.
The sub you are replacing is a $400 sub. Yeah its a 10" but it is probably a much better designed subwoofer than the PL-200.
