I've got an Archos 605 and thee sound quality is crap, these things are set up for video, I personally woundnt recommend Archos. Why not just audition all the players first?

Yes they do have 2 sets of speaker posts and they are front ported. And they are FANTASIC

Thanks to all who advised on set up and speakers, here's a few pics of my set up, absolutely loving the 6.2 I upgraded them from the 5.1, much, much better for music, lots more bass without being too much. Any thoughts on what I could do...
