That's still a great choice for the money. I don't think you can do better than those MLT-2s with that size restriction

Agreed. Get rid of the Acoustimass. It's not intended for what you want, and it's really not very good at producing bass anyway.

Contact Ascend Acoustics. They make a center channel version of their HTM-200 SE. It's the same speaker, just configured to lay on it's side. Dimentions are 11" (H) x 6.5" (W) x 6.375" (D). Three of those might fit perfectly
