150" screen...Is that diagonal for a 16:9, or wide for a 2.35:1? Also for a 12' wide room, it would be very tight for a couch and chair layout that you have on your drawing. Probably wouldn't be more than a foot to walk through that...

The lens shift will only give you so much leeway. Not sure what the farthest distance would be. The center of my lens is 2" above the screen and a fraction to the left. I have enough play in the manual lens shift and v-area position...

I would go with the Masonite door, and see if you can get the 1-3/4" version. They may have to order it, but the extra mass is worthwhile. I went back and forth on this decision too, and the exterior steel door just wouldn't look...
