Thanks for the info. If I can round up enough of audio cables I'll try the multi channel analog outs on the OPPO and my Pioneer 320 and see if it is isolated to just the player or the disc. I don't think I have any laying around as I have gotten rid of everything that is basically being rendered obsolete. I scrapped a lot of equipment because of these issues. I just got tired of always looking for work arounds. Because of this and the HD DVD debacle my wallet has taken a...
What is the problem with the audio on Jurrasic Park? I watched both JP and the Lost World and the 7.1 audio worked fine when bitstreaming to my Onkyo SR606. I can understand some of OPPO 83 owners being upset but this isn't the first time that a expensive player wouldn't work with a expensive receiver. Vinnie97 had the BH 200 hooked to a Pioneer SC-05 and would get a helicopter noise when bitstreaming Doly Digital and DD+ to the receiver. Pioneer never fixed the issue. His...
Bob, you are 100% correct. It is not a problem with the hardware in the player but with the ever changing software related to DRM. Of the three Blu ray players I own, OPPO 83, Pioneer 320, and LG BH200, it is always the three studios that were diehard Blu ray supporters in the format war. Disney, Fox, and Sony, that made the need for firmware updates in order to play new titles. Every Universal, Warner Brothers, and Paramount Blu ray title I own plays in all three players...
The guide is not Rovis. It looks like the same guide that Tivo uses. You have to pay $49.99 a year for the premium guide.http://www.channelmastertv.com/Produ...rogram%20Guide The basic guide uses PSIP data which is not reliable becasue the stations rarely send the data out. Page 12 of the manual explains the guide set up.http://www.channelmasterstore.com/v/...er%20guide.pdf There is a different Channelmaster web site for these boxes.http://www.channelmastertv.com/ Click on...
I agree with this also.
I just posted my thoughts on the incorrect clock in TVGOS over in the TVGOS thread.http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...7#post21175447
My clock was 25 seconds late for the past two weeks or so. Now it is 30 seconds early since the 2 AM time change. The last time the clock was incorrect was about 3 or 4 years ago when Gemstar decided to put themselves up for sale. This is the second time in 13 years that I can recall that the time in the guide has been incorrect. I tried to contact Rovi about three weeks ago but I haven't heard back from them. I am wondering if there was job cuts or something...
Sorry to hear about you losing your job. I know a few people who worked at the different wharehouses at Highridge since they opened and got fired for no reason. They were all replaced with lower cost workers. I am thinking about trying the Ceton tuner since I revived my Vista PC. I am going to upgrade it to Windows 7 and use it as a recording device. I am also considering the Silicon Dust Homerun HD Prime and then stream the cable feed over my gigabit network. I am going...
I never post an email on a forum but I will do it in this case. This is a reply from Rovi to my sister about the loss of analog and digital TVGOS on her comcast system in central PA.Nobody, not even the broadcasters, have to cooperate with Rovi because TVGOS is privately owned data stream and is not covered by any FCC regulations. Your options shortly down the road, for TVGOS and the DHG, will become limited to OTA only. In the next year or two most of the cable systems...
Hi Joe, I am available anytime. I located a new artec converter box but they want almost 120 dollars for it. If I can get the antenna to work here it should work at my sisters in chambersburg.
