any opinons on who would take this crown: Arcam FMJ A38 vs. Cambridge Audio 840A V2 i really wish i could do a head to head with these two

anyone had any experience on these units...they seem fairly even in specs? Might be a good head to head and I have narrowed my search down to these two but i cant do a head to head myself so i was thinking maybe someone else...

so if i went with an expensive pair of XLR connects over the $70 Emotiva pair is still wouldnt make a noticeable difference in sound quality or volume?

well if you look at my link with the diagram from the Emotiva website you see only 2 wires coming in to a 3 prong. i called emotiva and the tech guy said the 3rd wire was the ground and was attached to the shielding part of the cable...

well i was told by an audio pro that a 6db increase in sound would be evident...i am not sure how much that is exactly but he did say it would be noticibily louder but not necessarily better

i bought these off of the emotiva website but now a friend of mine is saying they dont look like a pair of "true" XLR cables after i didnt notice any difference in sound or volume. can anyone set the record straight if these are normal...
