You beat me to it. It sounds like a placement issue causing null zones and a cal may not fix it. You might have to do a sub crawl or add a sub or two or three. After fixing that then you could calibrate. Another sub can help quite a bit...
The panny's are G, N and dual band (2.4 and 5ghz). Yes, five bars, if it's weaker the bars on the right will be gray instead of green I believe.

PC's use a larger color space than video, maybe it's mismatched. PC= 0-255 video= 16-235. If mismatched it washes out the blacks and whites.
