True. I believe Windex was used in the pic I posted. However, water will corrode the electronic connections as well. The connections will corrode worse/faster with heat (e.g. with the set on).
Not to give up ALL hope, I would try cleaning and re seating the ribbon connections before making a final decision.
Any ideas on which products to use when cleaning electronic corrosion?
In the past I have used commercial electronics/contact cleaner as well as denatured alcohol.
