Noob question here; I have a comcast universal remote, not sure what type (any way to find out?), and was wondering is there a way to program it so that it can turn on the vizio bar. Any suggestions as to what to do? Will I need to get a Harmony?
my wireless sub is about 6' from my wireless network, no problem whatsoever.
When tightening the nut I also anchor the bolt by putting the screwdriver in the head. Does that make sense?
While I myself am not wall mounting my TV, on the website it shows one picture of a wall mounted tv with the bar above the unit, and like three wall mounted tv's with the bar below the unit. Sorry I can't be much more help. Adam
Yeah it is a bit of a rip off, guess they can charge as much as they want since they don't have any competitors. I was thinking of saying I'm a patent attorney/examiner and from my IP background I respect the genius that went into the design (it is clever), but to be honest it's because I'd rather not deal with the time commitment of getting all the parts and then putting it together. Some projects I prefer to do on my own, but when it deals with home entertainment I go...
The general consensus is sound bars sound much better above the TV, where the sound has more room to open up. There are a couple of methods of mounting your sound bar on top of your TV: Velcro, home-made brackets, and brackets bought off of www.soundbarbrackets.com Here's a thread discussing various methods: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1259583 I myself just bought the new Vizio and am anxiously awaiting the sound bar brackets so I can mount it...
Here's Davyo's explanation of the Home depot method: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...2#post17808742 And here are pictures of what it looks like: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...2#post18319032 Hope that helps Adam
I would post links to them in this post, but I don't have the privilege to post URL's yet, so I will post right after this, my third post. Does that make sense?
No offense taken, I thought I had found definitive proof of a release date, so that's why I titled with a statement rather then a question. Just a noob mistake. Sorry for bringing people's hopes up.
So I checked the Vizio website and the status of the soundbar has gone from "coming soon" to "out of stock". I checked out the "find a retailer" option and Target is now selling it (would post the link but this is my first post). When I tried to find a store that carried it the website told me that the release date is 7-25. So we "only" have to wait one more month... Can't wait.
