You're absolutely correct. There is risk involved. That's why I keep the purchases under $1000. I would hate to pay $2000 or more and have to speaker go bad 3 years later or less. Personally, if in the future I needed new speakers and had a nice size budget, I'd probably go with the seaton catalysts. As for right now, there is no way I can get the quality of of my gear for the money I paid for it. And that's for the rc's and veritas. What the heck, I'll throw the cr-10 in...
Resistance is futile
I did something similar when I first got my 2.2's. I had an external amp powering the 2.2's. I connected the oppo to the receiver with hdmi. I connected the analog outs fl and fr to the amp, which fed the 2.2's. then I connected the center and surround analog outs from the oppo to the receiver. Go into the oppo audio settings and change the volume to variable and make sure you lower it!! Set the receiver to the multi channel input. When you want to switch back to the rc's...
