Try these settings. If you ever do make the fatal error of wiping out the base settings.. Unzip and apply .. 
Finally got mine back yesterday. It was the HDMI board. Looks like a weak point in this unit.
Mine is still sitting waiting for Onkyo to authorize repair. I can't find my original receipt,but sent a copy of the check I paid for it. I have called and emailed the rep at Onkyo three times, and the service center says they can't...
Just sent mine in for repair for the same reason. Bought it in November of 2009 and it has been great. Replaced my 6.1 with this one to gain HDMI capability. I couldoccasionally get the sound back clearing the unit, but even that stopped...
I did the reset too. Go back to a post I made earlier to see what to do to reset the entries.
Ed, only thing I can think now is one of two things: 1. Pay to have a Geek Squad do it. 2. Buy a new 240 Hz set. Enjoy what you got. I remember black and white tube TV's........
Ed, you might try the settings. Just DON'T calibrate the HDMI!
Hey Crab...if you had read the posts completely, you have to mention the slow startup and restarts. They could care less about dots. But probably one of the capacitors causes the dots.
Bad capacitors. Call Samsung, they will have them replaced at no charge.
