I have been checking the Magnavox website for the Magnavox TB745H frequently, and it has not changed since I discovered it in early November.  All they have is a placeholder (empty) webpage.  Just tried a few variations in a Google search and found nothing new.  I have yet to see any references to a release date (other than the original wifi.org and energystar listings found in November).dfw515
JSUL, You appear to have 727V Firmware (that causes what I think we called on this thread in early 2012, the "Analog Channel Freeze" on the 515 model).   See wajo's link and follow instructions for "Ver02C for Freeze/Dead Problem on 513 and 515" to update your Firmware and resolve this issue.   The version of the Firmware for the 515 you have doesn't like to be powered ON when using the Analog tuner.  When the unit powers up the next time, and it is on any Analog...
skib,Try entering your zip code on this website http://www.silicondust.com/support/channels/ and click on Search.  Make sure that the drop-down box in the upper left corner says "Digital Antenna", then find your local FOX, NBC, CBS, etc channels listed.  Try entering both the Channel number and Virtual Channel number into your 5750.  Your HDTV probably uses the "Virtual".  You might just need to teach your 5750 how to remap the channel numbers.  In the past, this method...
skib,What is your zip code and which cable system are you using?  There might be a solution, but need this info to help you.dfw515
Philips has added the HDR5710 and HDR5750 to their website.   http://www.usa.philips.com/c/blu-ray-dvd/5000-series-hdr5710_f7/prd/en/ http://www.usa.philips.com/c/blu-ray-dvd/5000-series-hdr5750_f7/prd/en/   SUPPORT tab on right side of screen includes link to full 79 page PDF manual. FYI.... dfw515
Just found links to bestbuy.com for the new Philips HD DVR models.  They are both $30 less than the listings on Amazon (however Amazon isn't selling them yet).  Unfortunately, the Best Buy listings give VERY little information beyond what we already know.   Philips - Digital Video Recorder - HDR5710/F7   500GB model for  $249.99 (online only) Philips - Digital Video Recorder - HDR5750/F7   1TB model for  $299.99 (online only)   Not sure why Best Buy put them in the...
camborita, You know where to find us when you do have a chance to work on it again.  Good luck. dfw515
camborita,If I read your two posts correctly, you inserted the IDE extender and PATA to SATA adapter, turned on the machine, and successfully tested with the cover off.  Did you turn on the machine, test, and turn off the machine multiple times?  I ask, so that we can rule out a loose or pinched cable (when the cover is put back on). On your second post, you indicated that you removed the jumper from the SATA hard drive.  Since you have a SATA III hard drive, the jumper...
Camborita,Could you elaborate on your comment..."couldn't get the 3576 to consistently recognize the new HDD"?  Do you mean that half the time it wouldn't recognize that a HDD was connected when you turned on the 3576?  Or is it some other odd behavior? One possibility, if you could confirm, did you connect the Molex power cord to the PATA to SATA adapter?  I made that mistake once, but it didn't take long to realize what I had done. Was it a problem with unattended timer...
Crally,I agree with Super Eye.  Try jumping pins 5-6.  See these links.http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6592/http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/search/1/a_id/1337/c/130/p/227,295 I have used nearly a dozen SATA II hard drives (mostly 5400rpm 2 1/2" Hitachis), and had no issues with these type of hard drives in my two externalized Philips 3575's (via a PATA to SATA adapter), and also in one externalized Magnavox 515.  I believe that crally has...
