What about one of the NAD cd receiver units? Spearit sound has them as low as $300. Just add some decent used speakers and you're set. You can add a turntable later (but would need a phono stage)...

Not sure why you'd pay for 5 (or 7) amps, video processing, etc., when you are doing pure stereo listening. $ for $ I strongly believe you get better stereo sound with an integrated over an AVR.
