Alright, sorry to double post, but I'm trying to bump this up. I don't really want the Rode mic, it just seems too big and uncomfortable for having connected to the cam, also I have listened to some sound tests for it and wasn't really sold on it for the price. Does anybody know another good microphone that is maybe a little better than the Rode for $150-170? Thanks a lot guys!
The flash bracket doesn't seem to appeal to me as much. I will more than likely just buy the adapter piece. Although, are you sure the Rode Mic is worth it? I haven't had the experience to try them out, but from reviews and video sound tests it seemed to me that it wasn't as good as some other mics in about that range. This microphone purchase I can't mess up, I plan on it lasting me till I get a new camera (god knows when that is). So I want to know that I would be happy...
Thanks again for your reply. I was actually VERY intrigued in the zoom h1, especially when I found this link http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hot-shoe+to+1/4%22&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2943180154800225653&sa=X&ei=blk1T7P7G-Tq0gHwmaXAAg&ved=0CEYQ8wIwAQ"]http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hot-shoe+to+1/4%22&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2943180154800225653&sa=X&ei=blk1T7P7G-Tq0gHwmaXAAg&ved=0CEYQ8wIwAQ I figured that then I could just get this adapter...
Thank you very much for your fast reply, to be honest, I'd rather use a Canon microphone to make things simple. BUT I just paid $430 for my camera and I looked and it seems I can't find a Canon brand microphone for less than a $100. On top of this I still need to purchase a cheap tripod and cheap green screen. If I get the adapter, do you know of any good microphones that record with (somewhat) of a professional quality for under like $50? That would make it more worth...
Alright, so I'm about to purchase my first new age camcorder (I only own an old VHS one and sometimes use my phone/digital camera). I have finally decided on a Canon HF M40 after debating between that and a Panasonic HDC-TM90 and a Sony HDR-CX160. I am 100% sure I'm going to want to buy an external microphone to hook onto it. I am also going to buy a clip on microphone at one point too, but from now on I just want a normal external (directional) one. I know the Canon...
