My naïve understanding of sensitivity was that it's a measure of how much sound a speaker can output per unit volume of electrical input (a crude measure of efficiency and loudness?). Clearly I must be wrong because my outgoing Polk R150 has a sensitivity of 89 dB while the new B&W CM5 has a sensitivity of 88 dB. At the same volume level on my receiver, the CM5 produces way more sound. Thanks in advance.
