You are correct. Each kind of technology has it's issues and there isn't much you can do about it except pick what bests work for you. Based on you're thoughts and issues, I am kind of thinking you would love the 8000 - specifically...
Yep, same freaking stuff. I can't remember where, but it has been mentioned in several articles and I think one of the videos that H.265 support would be included in the evo kit.
