Go into Contact Samsung and there it will show your exact firmware. Now that you've reset everything (I never have but am planning to to test the current defaults), you can put your preferred setting back in. Good luck!
I really don't care if it's included either, but after what I know I had read and seen somewhere, if the F series does have it, then I would actually bet that the Evo Kit will have it too because something like that would be dependent on the chips - which is included in the kit. Either way, it won't be a deciding factor for me.
IF MD still isn't in Movie mode, that might explain why I see a difference in Movie mode but not much if any difference in Standard mode (which isn't a bad thing since it was already awesome). In other words, yes the 8000's Ultimate may be making a larger difference than the 7500's Pro in Standard mode. Granted on a pure black screen I still see a little clouding if looked at off axis (in either mode), but it's slight and not something that bothers me in the least - I...
Yeah, I have, especially in Movie mode. Movie mode now looks as deep as Standard too me with the correct and comparable backlight for the lighting conditions. Others have mentioned it too. I'm not sure what they did though. I've liked all the updates except the previous one, so this was a good one for me.
Some people say it does, but I can't confirm it. I doubt it will help in your situation though. Everyone is individual in their taste so I'm not telling you what to do but if you're seeing flashlighting as much as it sounds like you are, I assume you're in a dim room, and your settings are far from ideal for both proper color reproduction and for a dim room. If you can see the links in my signature under this post, check out the Guide. To give you an idea, I'm on...
I think Holton0289 is in charge actually. Hey, I tried to find specific info on H.265 for you but in the limited time I've had, I haven't. I know it was in at least one video though but don't have time to search and watch them. Like I said much earlier though or maybe in your Evo thread, if it's in the kit, it's not a selling point to me. First you need content. When we get that content, we'll wind up having it also built into our Blu-rays and media players of choice.
You are correct. Each kind of technology has it's issues and there isn't much you can do about it except pick what bests work for you.
Based on you're thoughts and issues, I am kind of thinking you would love the 8000 - specifically the 60". Mine is a 7500, but I love it. And other than having some personal issues with Sony over my last TV, size was one of the reasons I went with Samsung too - I didn't want a 55" or a 65". Good luck!
