ITo answer your question ...................eer .... not exactly like that !Your Onkyo R309 is an HTIB all in one receiver that provides power to a passive sub via the direct Subwoofer speaker connection .The Onkyo NR 818 is a 7.2 surround receiver that does not provide a powered subwoofer speaker output It has L/R line level subwoofer outputs like most full sized AVR's ......... It's designed to work with 1 or 2 powered sub woofers ....... that's the .2 in 7.2...
I 've read that Sony sometimes offers discounts on replacement sets OOW but only occasionally replaces sets outright that are out of warranty. As for Samsung I can't say although I have a 2013 Sammie plasma and 2013 Sony LED/LCD with a Samsung panel
.I have a day and night calibration mainly just brightness and color difference that is all on mine at least.
Sounds like it may be panel ribbon cable bonded tab connectors some members have done temporary repairs with some success . (looks like it too) Affecting the picture by bending , squeezing or otherwise manipulating the panel the edge of the set is a giveaway also. Sometimes just disconnecting and re connecting the ribbon cable to the panel may also fix it . Some times you can Fix the panel bonded tab connectors by putting a little foam tape under the pad retainer...

Idealy you would want to bring the mains voltage up slowly with a variac and re form the Electrolytic capacitors Another way is a dim bulb tester with a 100W incandescent bulb http://www.antiqueradio.org/dimbulb.htm How long ago were the capacitors replaced ? They could be fine depending . Good Idea not to leave a vintage tube amp on unattended The best thing is probably to remove any modifications (if there are any ) and replace the filter caps to original...
Mebbe someone playing tricks with the remote? smile.gif could be or someone playing tricks with another remote that turns it off also Sometimes with some sets if you walk away from the TV and it is not getting a signal it *may turn off ,if it does it again Make sure sleep timer is not accidentally activated if not , Unplug the TV for a minute or so then ofc plug it in and turn it back on Next thing to to would be a factory re set note : that will restore all...
I'm thinking T-con board or the panel . *some t-con boards are built into the panel some are separate . One thing to try first is to re set your TV just unplug it from the mains for a minute so then ofc plug it back in then turn it back on . next to try would be a factory re set owners manuals can be found here http://www.samsung.com/uk/search/?q=UE42F5000 next would be a firmware update/re install, firmware should also be at above link
I'm getting 180 + fps with an Phenom II x4 945 and mild overclock . I can do a DVD in H.B *some minutes it varies by program length and content .
