We found a very reasonable paint-grade cabinet maker in San Mateo, CA when we remodeled in 2002. My wife and I created the initial design and they helped finalize. Originally designed around Mitsubishi Diamond 65" roll-in big-box TV.

Thin cabinets on each side of the TV pull out up to tv height for CD's and DVD storage. Bottom panel is quickly removable and the new TV is mounted on a very cool Sanus full-motion mount which pulls outward 24" and allows the TV to swivel almost 90 degrees to get behind for wiring. Two outside top cabinets are small for general storage. Two larger inside cabinets house all of the equipment on multiple shelves.

Equipment:
Sony 65XBRHX929, Pioneer Elite SC-65, DirecTV HR24, LG BluRay, Mac Mini, Definitive Mythos towers, B&W center, Klipsch high-fronts and rears in ceiling with swivel tweeters. Mythos have 2 subs. Nevo Q50 remote with NC50 RF Zwave. Wired Ethernet with Wi-Fi as well.
