When I first started using this cdp, wasn't quite sure of it's sound quality. Had been using a Marantz BD7004 for cds & this player sounded "muddled" & not quite as bright as the Marantz. After tweaking my system some, this player has warmed up over time with use. Now I prefer it over the Marantz & that surprised me. For the price, hard to beat & it's a nice design & tray operates sturdily. It's not a $500 cdp but gets the job done in good fashion!
