Pros: professional quality panel, 1/2 price on 2011 models
Cons: glass screen reflects window light, room lights
We were looking at high-end monitors. Shape/Pioneer Elite 70" panel was our first choice. We looked at and was impressed with the Panasonic VT50. Our local A/V store called their Panasonic Rep. to get us the best price on the VT50. The Panasonic Rep. suggested the VX 300u instead. You can't find the vx 300u in the retail stores and A/V stores. The vx300 has none of the extra things people expect to find on a monitor; no speakers, no apps, no web camera. We did want all the extras, we just wanted a beautiful picture. Our old panasonic monitor was nice, this new monitor is incredible. It has 3D capabilities but that is not important to us. The program to adjust color, contrast, etc is very easy to use. There are pre-set programs that work for us. One is for daytime use. We have hugh wall of windows next to the monitor and with the brillant picture setting we are able to watch the screen during the day. We can see no difference between the Elite and the Vx 300.
