Pros: Sounds good, Relatively easy to set up.
Cons: No on screen menu; Does not upconvert video--only does pass through
I have had this receiver for a few years now and I think it does a fine job providing surround sound in various formats. It does 7.1. It does not have ARC or do 3D as it was on the market prior to these technologies becoming available at this price range. It does not do any video upconverting. You must plug HDMI in to get HDMI out. It supports HDMI, component video and composite video. It does not have an onscreen menu, and you must use its little LED screen for programming.
It does come with a microphone, and through the set up process will play a series of tones. This will automatically determine speaker height, size and placement.
Overall it is not the best receiver on the market, but it does a good job as an upgrade over the TV speakers.
