Pros: Lara Croft, Contolling Lara Croft from behind, Great Cinema Graphics, Gameplay is the same as the previous Tomb Raider games.
Cons: Some puzzles and enemies are too tough to defeat, even on easy level. No 3D
Tomb Raider is a 2013 reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.(If you have a PC, you can upload the nude mod.) We are introduced to a 21 year old Lara Croft voiced by Camille Luddington. (you can see her nude in the TV series Californication.) The storyline, Lara's expedition is shipwrecked on an uncharted island in the Devil's Triangle. (The Pacific's version of the Bermuda Triangle.) The island was inhabited by Queen Yamatai and her Priestesses. Over the centuries, the island has been occupied by pirates, sailors and Japanese Soldiers during World War 2. Everyone who tries to leave the island is killed by intense, fierce storms that appear out of nowhere. A group of pirates hope to escape the island but to do so requires a direct descendant of Yamatai. Lara's friend Sam is a direct descendant of Yamatai. Lara's goal is to rescue Sam from the pirates and get her expedition off the island laying waste to a few pirates during the game. The gameplay is just like the previous Tomb Raider games controlling Lara Croft from behind. (As Clueless Gamer Conan O'Brien said you always have an organic reason to be behind her. Whoever designed this game is a genius.) You first acquire bows and arrows to use against enemies and the occassional animal to hunt, eventually gainning more powerful weapons. The Tomb puzzles are sometimes too challenging even on the easy level. I'm on the Expert Level and I reached the point that stopped Clueless Gamer Conan O'Brien. Lara is attempting to cross a raging river. Tomb Raider is his best review! The parachute scene comes later in the game FYI. On easy level the raging river crossing can be done without getting shafted in the neck. The visuals are stunning when you are looking from high on a tower or a mountain. I only wish this had a 3D version. If you have a Projector, it really makes this a cinema experience more than playing a game. Best Review of Tomb Raider is by Clueless Gamer Conan O'Brien.
